Register for the hike

Please join us - you will be making a difference in the lives of the families affected by histiocytosis. There is a great feeling that comes from representing your sponsors as you climb step-by-step towards the summit of Half Dome - and an even better feeling when you hit your goal.

We've made some changes to the registration options this year. You can now register as an:

• Individual - you can establish your own webpage and tie all sponsorships you bring in to your registration.
• Family - Allows all family members to fundraise as a single entity.
• 'Virtual Hiker' - not everyone can make it to Yosemite to join the hike, but many still want to collect sponsorships in support of someone affected by the disease. Allows for the same capabilities as an Individual Hiker, but without the meals and lodging in Yosemite.

All registrants can now associate themselves with "Groups" in support of a specific histiocytosis honoree. You will see the details when you register. Your registration fee of $40 (Adults) and $25 (Youth 4-12) covers the actual costs of your Hike For A Cure t-shirt, the Saturday night buffet dinner and the traditional Soup & Salad dinner on Sunday night. By registering you can also reserve lodging for the weekend. Your lodging fee covers the actual costs we pay to Curry Village for the rooms we've reserved.

When you register online you will be transferred to an event website operated by Kintara. There you will be able to set up your own fund raising "Hike HQ" website. Payment for registering and for lodging is easy - Kintara can process your credit card securely.

When you register you will receive by email your confirmation. You can download your registration packet here. Your registration packet contains information on fund raising and tips for how to have a successful hike.

Fundraising goal - the purpose of the hike is to raise money for research into a cure for histiocytosis. Consequently, we ask each registered hiker to raise a minimum of $250. We all like challenges - so to encourage you we provide the following 'recognition' for hitting certain goals:

• $250 - a Hike For A Cure lapel pin is yours. A great conversation starter!
• $500 - we add in a waterbottle - you'll be environmentally hip.
• $1000 - get a good night's sleep on us: we'll also cover the cost of 1 night of your H4AC lodging booked through us.
• $2000 - be the envy of your friends in your new Hike For A Cure jacket.
